I think you've managed to cover the pertinent points in adequate detail – hope you didn't keep yourself up late working on something that could have waited until Monday.

For whatever reason this Seinfeld scene came to mind for this post…

"I sense great vulnerability. A man-child crying out for love. An innocent orphan in the post-modern world."

"I see a parasite. A sexually depraved miscreant who is seeking only to gratify his basest and most immediate urges."

"His struggle is man's struggle. He lifts my spirit."

"He is a loathesome, offensive brute. Yet I can't look away."

    "He transcends time and space."

    "He sickens me."

    "I love it."

    "Me too."

For me, this whole dust up reminds me of a long-forgotten initiative called 'AttentionTrust'. For the insiders it all made sense, was vital to the success of something (I forget what), and basically the world would end without it. From the outside it just looked plain stupid. A plan put together by a few living inside the echo chamber.

Let's hope there's a better outcome for Cloud Computing than the one that AttentionTrust suffered…..
