Schneier Has It All Wrong: Quantum Crypto is FTW!

Angry-schneier
I was reading Bruce's recent post on Quantum Crypto and couldn't believe what I read.  I'm horrified:

While I like the science of quantum cryptography — my undergraduate
degree was in physics — I don't see any commercial value in it. I
don't believe it solves any security problem that needs solving. I
don't believe that it's worth paying for, and I can't imagine anyone
but a few technophiles buying and deploying it. Systems that use it
don't magically become unbreakable, because the quantum part doesn't
address the weak points of the system.

No commercial value? Doesn't solve any security problem that needs solving?  Isn't worth paying for?  Only a few folks buying and deploying it!?

Hell, I'm writing a business plan right now and going for VC funding!  This is obviously the next big thing!  After all, this is mantra that the entire security industry is predicated upon.

Silly Bruce.

When "The Hoff" writes a book that technically surpasses the depth of understanding around crypto that Schneier's "Applied Cryptography" goes into — then, and only then, will I side with you. 🙂 Otherwise good luck with that VC Hoff!

What? I can't hear you. Get your tongue out of your cheek will you?

Bruce Schneier once attacked the whole security industry, and said the there should be no security industry at all. There should be no firewalls, no IPS's, no Antiviruses, just nothing. His claim was that computers and softwares are supposed to be secured and non-vulnerable from the beginning.
Now, he is attacking the QC, may be because there have been some buzz about it lately.
I think Mr. Schneier loves to tease the media by such comments, and obviously he attracts the media as well. But you know what, but he must be really careful as such comments may really harm his credibility.
